TOFY is about kindness. Chefs express themselves through their dishes, but rarely get to connect directly with guests due to the fast pace of the kitchen. One night, that changed. It was slow, and the kitchen staff stood near the bar when a man walked in from the rain; cold, exhausted, and on the verge of tears.
Our chef at Black Creek saw him and immediately prepared a plate of orange romesco scallops, handing it to our general manager to deliver with a smile and the words, “This One’s For You.” In minutes, the man transformed, his sorrow replaced with laughter and warmth.
From that moment, food became more than a meal for me. It became an experience capable of turning the worst day into something brighter, leaving you with a warm plate and a smile.
