“Chefs express themselves through their dishes, but rarely get to connect directly with guests due to the fast-paced nature of the kitchen — one night, that all changed.
It was slow, and the kitchen staff stood conversing with one another near the bar when a man walked in from a rainy Ohio evening; cold, exhausted, and on the verge of tears.
Our then-chef at Black Creek saw him, and immediately prepared a serving of orange romesco scallops. He then handed it to our general manager, instructing him to deliver the dish with a smile and the words, “This One’s For You.” Within minutes, the man’s demeanor transformed, his sorrow replaced with laughter and warmth, reflecting the power of a simple gesture full of kindness and good intentions.

Who is TOFY?
Mitchell Reade | Owner & Head Chef
Mitchell was born and raised in central Ohio, cooking for as long as he can remember. Over the past ten years, he’s worked in restaurants, learning from chefs with a range of styles, techniques, and flavor combinations. Yet, something was always missing.
Many chefs told him, "If it wasn’t sent back, it was good." But after years of hearing this, Mitchell realized that great food isn’t just about avoiding criticism, it’s about connection. From then on, he made it a priority to talk to his guests, learn about their experiences, and understand what brought them to our restaurant. He wanted to craft the perfect dining moment, one that made their day just a little more special.
That’s how TOFY was born. It’s more than a menu; it’s a way to bring the restaurant experience directly to our guests' homes, offering them something truly unique.
Anya Horton | Pastry Chef & Events Coordinator
A Kansas City native with over 7 years of experience in the culinary world, Anya brings creativity and flair to every dessert. Most recently spotted crafting menu items at FYR Columbus, she specializes in pastries that are as visually stunning as they are delicious.
For Anya, pastry is more than just food—it’s a performance. From bold flavors to intricate plating, each creation is designed to captivate and delight.
Jenni Walker | Beverage Director
Growing up as a military kid in a big family to parents from Whitehall, Ohio, Jenni has always had a foot in the culinary world; whether that was helping to make sure everyone in the family got to eat a good meal that night, spending time with her parents in the kitchen, or helping her mom run a small-town diner. That love of bringing people together over a good meal and drinks has continued through her adult life, such as cooking for college friends after a night out and hosting any event she can.
She got her real start in the bar world at High Bank Distillery in Columbus, Ohio, where she spent 3 years helping build their bar menu, which elevated the bar to one of the best in the area. With 10 years of industry experience, she’s dipped her toes into just about every position, and is elated to continue learning and growing with TOFY.
